After giving birth, being active is good for your mental and emotional needs and health. Can improve mood and reduce postpartum depression and anxiety. Joining the class can also double as social time. Or you may need some alone time and that’s okay too.
Pregnancy affects the musculoskeletal system. As belly expands, the abdominals stretch, and back muscles shorten. Ligaments and joints in pelvis become very unstable and pelvic floor often weakens. Physical changes cause women to compensate by creating new movement patterns often resulting in poor form.
This program will be tailored for women who are looking to get back into working out after having a baby and are finding it difficult to do so because of time management, having to care for their baby, or doesn’t have knowledge on how to integrate back.
The program assists with these barriers by creating workouts where the mom and baby can both participate together. The 45 – minute workout will consist of movements that focus on building the foundation to a safe return by strengthening necessary muscles, enhancing coordination, and avoiding strenuous movements that can hinder proper healing. Moms are welcome to bring their babies or can opt to participate alone.
DEMO MOVEMENTS
- Bird dogs (dynamic warm up)
- air squats (demo with KB or baby
- toe taps (cool down)
Prior to registration, the mom must have clearance from her physician to be able to engage in physical activity. Likely, both Mother and baby must sign a waiver before the start of their first class.
Classes will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:00am – 11:45am
Limit: 3 classes per Week
